Discretion
Financial matters are personal, and we treat them as such. Conversations with our firm remain private, and we do not discuss our clients or their affairs. What is shared with us remains with us.
Mex Capital Management is a private advisory practice in Westport, Connecticut, serving individuals, families and small business owners. We offer measured counsel on portfolios, retirement income, education funding and the wider coordination of a household's financial affairs.
Financial matters are personal, and we treat them as such. Conversations with our firm remain private, and we do not discuss our clients or their affairs. What is shared with us remains with us.
Stewardship is sustained by attention. We read, monitor and review continually, preferring careful preparation to reaction. Decisions are made only after questions have been asked thoroughly.
Our interests are bound to our clients' interests. We give plain advice, explain our reasoning and stand behind it. No recommendation is considered complete until the client understands it and is satisfied it is right.
Engagements are shaped to each household.
| Portfolio oversight | Ongoing attention to investment accounts — structure, balance, cost and risk — reviewed continually against the client's stated objectives. |
| Retirement & income planning | Preparing for, and drawing upon, a lifetime of savings: projecting income needs, the ordering of withdrawals, and the endurance of resources through the later decades of retirement. |
| Education funding | Weighing the vehicles for funding school and university, and keeping them in proportion to the family's wider aims. |
| Family & estate coordination | Working alongside accountants and attorneys so that trusts, beneficiary designations and estate documents speak with a single voice. |
| Business owner planning | Helping proprietors keep personal and enterprise wealth in proper balance, and preparing for the eventual transfer or sale of the business. |
We regard every client's capital as a trust — to be guarded with patience, administered with discipline, and passed on with care.On stewardship
Most of our clients live and work in Fairfield County and beyond. They are physicians and lawyers, retired executives, widows managing an estate alone for the first time, and owners of closely held businesses. What they share is not wealth of any particular size, but a preference for considered counsel over fashionable advice.
We do not speak in products. We speak of the household balance sheet as a whole — investments, income needs, taxes, obligations to children and parents, and the eventual disposition of what remains. Portfolio oversight is the visible part of the work; the quieter part is keeping each element in agreement with the others.
Every relationship begins the same way: an unhurried conversation, by telephone or in our Westport office. If there is mutual interest, we review existing statements and documents in confidence and set out in writing what we observe and what we would propose. Only then does the client decide whether to proceed — and that decision is never rushed.
Families rarely have a single adviser. We consider it our role to work alongside the client's accountant and attorney — sharing what is needed, deferring where another profession leads, and ensuring that financial decisions and legal documents do not drift apart.
The best introductions are unhurried. If you would like to understand how our firm might serve your family or your business, we would be glad to talk.
